About

- Notes: The rocket was drawn by Lucy Lui, and a small amount of the outlining and coloring was done by Michelle Wainer and Dorothy Smith. GSW stands for Governor's School West, which is a 6-week-long academic program during the summer funded by the state of North Carolina. The theme for the summerbook was the 90's, so all of the details are somehow tied to that decade. Pluto (because it was still considered a planet in the 90's), Dolly the sheep, Face from Nickelodeon, DNA (to represent the Human Genome Project which started in 1990), Germany (because East and West Germany reunited in 1990), Bill Clinton, the countdown to Y2K, Pokemon, Nirvana, growth in computer and space technology, and toys like Furby and Bop It are all of the details I included.
